India plays classical guitar and also sings standards and hits at weddings, receptions, and other events. Her selection of wedding favorites is unlimited, including hits from many musical styles. She performs publicly in the Austin area and teaches private voice lessons to choir students at several local public schools and for people of all ages in her home.
For her custom songwriting clients, she has written for a variety of occasions since 2001 – weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, memorial services, humorous toasts, and more -- based on each customer’s unique story. A list of references is available on request.
After completing 4 years of classical music study and receiving a degree in Vocal Music (1987, Lake Charles, Louisiana), India Taylor went on to study 2 years of contemporary voice in order that she could perform other styles well, including pop, jazz, country, rock, and R&B. People who have heard her work remember her professional quality 3-octave range as well as her warm, friendly personality.
Other achievements in music include winning various songwriting awards and releasing 2 original music CDs: a bluesy album called “Mosaic” in 1999, and a spiritual CD, “Celebrate Your Well Being” in 2009. Both can be heard at India’s original artist site, www.indiataylor.com.
